Does My Homeschool Student Have To Take the FCAT?
NO! By FL law, it is the home educating parents’ choice. This has NOT changed, anywhere in Florida, in any county of FL:
I received papers from the county that sound like my homeschool students are required to be signed up for the FCAT. I thought is was my choice if my homeschooling student takes the FCAT or NOT.
YES, it is the parents’ choice:

DO NOT BE FOOLED! It IS your choice if your homeschool student takes the FCAT, or any test, whether it is a FL state assessment test, a national, norm referenced test, or a portfolio review, for the annual educational evaluation required, by FL law. AND, you do not have to decide which option you will choose until it is time for you to send in the annual educational evaluation to the county for your homeschooled child. You certainly do not have to decide, much less inform anyone, including the county personnel, WHO the evaluator is going to be, EITHER.
