Home Schooling Scares Me – Homeschooling Is Stupid

I really want to help my child more myself. I feel really strongly that the school is not caring for my child as much as they could, much less are they helping as much as they really should. I really want to homeschool my child but when I asked the teacher, and even the school secretary, they acted like it was completely stupid and impossible to do. When I asked the school board office about homeschooling, and even the homeschool office, they acted like I was just insane and would be an idiot to even try to educate my child at home.

Many of the county school board personnel and school administrators, and secretaries/receptionists will tell you:

“Your child must have a standardized test!” NOT!
“Your child will have to take the FCAT and will not be prepared at all!” NOT! – NO FCAT required for homeschool students. FCAT is an option for the annual evaluation if you choose to have your child take it, though NOT required at all, ever for homeschool students. Homeschooling your children will preapare them much better, and for much, more than the lame FCAT!
“Your child must have a portfolio with all the science, history, environment, language arts, math, etc. required to be reviewed!” NOT! – you are required to keep samples of your child’s work and what they do. When your children do thier is completely up to you. What subjects your homeschooling student studies, as in math, science, foreign language, music, etc. is COMPLETELY your choice, by law.

It seems that more often now county personnel are scaring the parent out of home education. Maybe these are things that they have heard, yet these “requirements” that they tell parents are false.

The above is a common scenario now, more than ever. I thought people were coming around to understand the truth about home education and know that our homeschooling our children is actually helping the situation in the schools, and not threatening their jobs as teachers and administrators.

People should see very well that the majority of home educated students, generally speaking, score higher than public school students on academic achievement tests, as well as being much more creative, polite, self-disciplined, and talented. The socialization that homeschool students go through is generally much more wholesome than the drug, smut and violent, bully socialization in most of the public schools.
