Standardized Testing, Year End Portfolio Review and FL Annual Educational Evaluation
The “Florida Annual Educational Evaluation”, or the “End of the Year Portfolio Review” for FL homeschooling, as it is sometimes referred to, does NOT require:
1. testing of any kind to be given
2. determine, or show to the state or county, a grade level for the student in any way
3. to be done at the end of the public school year
4. that the child/student be entirely completed with any curriculum, text books, workbooks, or on line classes before the evaluation is conducted
5. that the parent’s educational activities log be viewed by the FL licensed teacher at any time during the evaluation process
Email, or call me, C. Curtis Tucker, to do your Annual Evaluations easily and quickly, and very economically in EVERY county of the state of Florida. I am a FL state certified teacher and I have been a homeschooling parent for many years. My contact Information: email – CCTucker7@Gmail.com (786)525-3545
I have also been doing standardized tests with students since 1993.
The main point of this entry into the FAQ section and Blog section of our web site, is the realization that state tests and their scores don’t actually tell us anything about our children and their academic studies and/or progress. We used to give Norm Referenced tests in the schools and get back scores that tell us the percentiles and the stanine scores of our children. With this we could see our children’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as, how our children’s academic levels compared to the students at the same age level, across the country.
These state standardized tests can be extremely STRESSFUL on students, many teachers, administrators, etc. and even parents at home
The BEST school choice is Homeschooling.
